You have a typo! vmode should be wmode (it stands for window mode)
Also, unless you need content to show THROUGH the swf from behind (which it doesn't seem like you do given you have a solid white background), you should use wmode=opaque instead. It will give you better performance (less calulcations for alpha), and has less bugs for browser rendering.
