If you just place a link to the swf, then when a user views the file, the
swf will always scale to fir the entire browser window size.

swf files are designed to be shown inside a HTML page, not viewed directly.

Just make a HTML page which holds the swf, and link to the page instead.

Here is instructiona on how to embed a swf properly in Google sites using
the Flash wrapper gadget:
http://sites.google.com/site/mori79/html-gadgets/media-players/flash-wrapper

(your swf file should be 1024x768 pixels in size)


Also, I found you cannot link to a swf hosted on Google pages from another
site. Very annoying!
