SWFObject does not control zooming in any way (at the end of the day, what it written to the page from SWFObject is a standard <object> tag). It is up to the way you define your dimensions for both the <object> and the wrapper div which will determine the final dimensions (had how the elements behave when zoomed))
Are you sure your properties and params for your object/embed vs your swfobject markup are identical? Usually I find that people forget to ensure they are all the same when transitioning between the two.
