I get this same issue with lots of users at one particular client site. As pointed out, it is due to corrupt flash player that was rolled out sometime in the version 7.x range I believe. upgrading it does no good, it has to be completely removed and reinstalled. Yet another one to thank Macromedia/Adobe for!!
