With respect to DOMready, unfortunately it's still pretty abysmal (when
factoring in legacy browser support)... For instance, IE<=8 has the really
ugly DoScroll hack. BUT, `DOMContentLoaded` is now a standardized and well
defined event, so modern standards browsers (incl IE9) all play nicely. Some
day hopefully we can retire those ugly legacy hacks.

Sounds like the eventListeners have gotten more reliable across the
browsers. I guess thats why all the new javascript stuff has come out
lately.
