I get an loop when I try to process a swf version 8 file with swfdump or
swfcombine.

e,g, if I issue  swfdump -a or -t or -p  I get a dump of the swf.
     if I issue swfdump -D overview.swf I get the loop.
     if I issue  swfcombine -z   playervar.swf   Screen=overview.swf  o=
z.swf    I get a loop.

    The follow messages are displayed again and again in the loop.

                        GetU8() out of bounds: TagID = 2
                        GetU16() out of bounds: TagID = 2

         Actually, most message are the "GetU8() out of bounds".

This seems to happen with all movies that are swf Version 8. If we have
the source, we generate as
version 6 or 7 and they work but we are concerned if we receive any swf
only version 8 movies in the future.

The swfcombine is used to merge our player with the movie.

If you need a copy of the overview.swf , please let me know and I can
send/attach it.

It'd be great if the tools would support the v8 files, since we use
swftools a lot. But if that isn't possible, detecting v8 files and ending
with an error message return code is better than a loop.

Do the swftools support swf version 8 files (and we have found ones that
don't work) ?

Thanks for all your time and help!

Bill
