Today I put some simple text (4 characters) into my SWF animation and wow, the size of the resulting file suddenly jumped from 25 kBytes to 120 kBytes! I used the font2swf utility and the .font and .text commands. It looks as if the whole font table gets embedded into the compiled SWF file. Is there any way to conserve some bytes when using text?
