I admit I'm an idiot.

The problem had nothing to do with pdf2swf or my viewer.

My pdf conversion process includes processing the outputted swf with swfbbox
to ensure the margins are correct. 

I had not uploaded the latest version of swfbbox.exe........Doh !!!!

Sorry for wasting time.

Do you suspect a bug in pdf2swf here? I don't know enough about your viewer
to be able to pinpoint what the problem is for this application- it might
also have something to do with text selection.

You mentioned -O1. Does this problem occur without -O1, too?
