[Swftools-common] Badly balanced softmasks/transparency groups -- swftools 0.9

Hello,

I'm working with version 0.9, and received the "Badly balanced  
softmasks/transparency groups" error on one page of a PDF.

This thread -- http://www.mail-archive.com/swftools-common@nongnu.org/msg03588.html 
 -- suggests that the -O1 switch gets around this problem, but it  
does not in the case of my PDF. The FATAL error still comes up.

I do not want to convert to bitmaps to ensure that text is searchable.  
Suggestions?
