In February 2010, this patch was applied to swfextract: http://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/swftools-common/2010-02/msg00080.html
I used grep on the source code of 0.9.2 and it still includes "outputformat". However, when I run swfextract without options, it doesn't mention --outputformat or -a. When I install swftools on my system (GNU/Linux Mint 15) using the package manager, I also get 0.9.2. I comes with a man page for swfextract that also does not mention --outputformat or -a. When I use the command mentioned on aforementioned page of the swftools-common archive for... http://uploads.ungrounded.net/270000/270585_Marvin_Spectrum.swf ...I get a core dump. Since both swfextract itself and the man page do not explain what --outputformat and -a do, I can only guess that -a means all. Suggestions: - Both swfextract and its man page should explain what --outputformat and -a are meant to do. - Please make -a (--all) or -e (--everything) extract everything without having to use --outputformat "extract_%06d.%s", because the latter is too complicated for the uninitiated. - Maybe look into the core dump for the aforementioned SWF file.
