what TreeModel are you using? Your own or the default?

Subject: Jtree: programmatically simulate clicks
Hi,
I have the following situation:
A Jtree with an adhoc TreeModel. This model is often swapped
with another one.
Some elements of the model are also linked to buttons inside
another window.
If the user double-click on an element X, action X happens.
What should I do if I want the same action to happen
when the user click on the button linked to the element X
or when the application has decided that it should happen?
I.e. to programmatically simulate the double click on the item
just by working on the model elements.
Thanks for any advice
Frédéric
