Did you profile your application to see, where it spends its
money? Although Java has a garbage collector, it is necessary
to force the release of memory. Especially, when using Swing,
make sure, that all references from Swing to your classes are
cleaned up. A good point is to start with the listeners that you
attach. Are they all detached properly?
