Hi,

I'm new to this group and indeed new to Swing which
probably explains why I'm asking this question that
I'm sure has a trivial answer (only I don't know it!).

Here's the deal ... I have this applet with a JButton
that does some validation on clicking. If some errors
are found a JDialog (with a JOptionPane inside)
displays a message. I click "OK" and the window
closes, as expected.

Problem is when I click the button a second time, once
again the validation takes place, the JDialog window
pops up with the error message but when I click "OK"
to close the window, nothing happens. I have to
close/shutdown the window to get rid of it. Then if I
go through the process again "OK" will close the
window and got throught he process again "OK" won't
etc. etc. every second turn. It seems that shutting
down the JDialog resets something that does not occour
when clicking "OK".

I hope I've explained myself clearly. Anyway, can any
of you guys or gals help me out on this one, it's
driving me mad.

cheers,
Sean,
Dublin, Ireland
