Hi,
Can anybody tell how to find the "allowable length of a filename".
I mean to ask, if i have a textfield where in the user specifies a file
name[to be created]. If there a method in java to get the OS allowed file
length i can put the restriction for the textfield to allow only that many
characters.
Because the file length allowed by diff OS will be diff, for
windowsNT it is 255 . Any help is greatly appreciated.
