This post is only indirectly related to Swing, since it's related to
the process by which one makes signed applets.

I'm running into problems using the policytool. To begin with, when
the Policy Tool window comes up, it is too small (a few buttons get
clipped). But at least the user can resize it. When one clicks on
"Add Policy Entry", on the other hand, some essential fields, buttons,
and labels get cropped out of the window, and one cannot resize the
window to make them visible. One cannot even close this new window
using a GUI element. Since it's a modal window, at this point there
is no choice but to kill the program from the Unix shell.

It seems to me that for all practical purposes this rules out signed
applets for Linux users. (The only exception would be those rare
Linux users that are knowledgeable enough to create policy files using
a text editor.)

Is there a way to salvage the use of signed applets for Linux users?

Thanks,

KJ
