Normaly, i search the datasheet for the original fan (NMC ?) and look for an equivalent (equal or less Wattage, equal voltage, less dB, equal ore more presure and airflow) at http://www.ebmpapst.com Their express-service for me is SCHEFFEL elektrotechnischer Vertrieb GmbH ebmpapst-Express-Service-Süd Aischbach 1 70839 Gerlingen Telefon: +49 (0) 71 56 2 83 57 Fax + 49 (0) 71 56 / 4 94 25 For the ancient 35??-XL-AN Series, we used Papst 405 (40x40x20, 5V, 10m**3 18dB(A) (but that ws without tacho, but i strongly believe there is a verison with tacho available, also 12 V Versions... and they have many of the Papst-fans on stock and deliver fast. If not found there, you may try farnell . As a last chance you may try sunon fans, found for example at reichelt.de , better some airflow than nothing; but their usage-period is much shorter.
