Dear Swinog Members IPv6 grows faster than we all expected. Within the last 12 months, the number of global IPv6-enabled Internet Users has more than doubled and is now up to 3.5% (corresponds to 85 Mio users). If growth continues in that pace, there will be more than 50% IPv6-Internet users in 3 years.
On the other hand, content providers are rolling out IPv6 also. Our survey among Swiss Top Alexa 75 websites shows, that 35% have IPv6 either already enabled (10%) or will enable it in 2014 (25%). In Switzerland there currently are approximately 10% IPv6 users and with the deployments planned for 2014 this number should go up to at least 20% by the end of the year. This will have a noteable impact on IPv6 traffic in Switzerland.
