Andre, I agree totally with you. I was as well at the first meeting when all of the people attending the meeting stated the wish that this will not be a vendor pony show. We as cisco are happy that we can participate at swinog and contribute with some technical updates that might interest most of the audience (always first asked on the mailer about the topic like IPv6). But also, we are also interested to hear what's on your (the market) mind, experience you got etc.
Regarding the agenda of the swinog 4th meeting, I was waiting for different proposals for speeches and sent out 3 times reminders to fill the open slots. It seems that currently are not too many people on the list having a speech that might be of interest to the audience. Based on some wishes I received if we might do something about QoS I organized the update from Clarence. The Docsis update was organized by an other ISP at this list. I don't know if you know Clarence Filsfil, but I can assure you that you will not get lots of Gartner slides, just a lot of deep technical details. However, regarding your wish to include the competitor status in the presentations which I think is not achievable. I can only speak for Cisco, but we do not want to comment or judge on our competition, or would someone believe us if we tell you that a feature sucks on this box of this other vendor? Furthermore, we are not able to position products or features of our competition in they way they would like to have it positioned. Therefore is my suggestion (like stated on the first meeting and agreed by all the people) to keep vendor presentation in a technical level and not sales oriented. However, if people on this list think that there are too many vendor sessions for swinog 4th, I have no problem to cancel Clarence session and fill in the open slot with an other presentation --> please send me some proposals!
