Interesting data, NANOG is on the decline, the last meeting in Miami was way less crowded, you could feel it, than say Feb'01 (600+ ppl IIRC). OTOH SWINOG is on the rise which is great news for the CH community. CH business have more to spend on staff going to tech meetings or is it the fact that the meeting is 1 day and the country is so small (travel and hotel expenses are very low)?
