I would love to see a presentation regarding DrDoS. It may be also
very interessting to talk about the 100'000 of drones which are
laying on IRC Networks which can generate more than 1 gbps
bandwidth.

This may only affect the IRC Networks currently, but it began
to spread out today to other ISP's and uplinks. Today the
attack against our IRC Servers took down several routers
and PIX's.

Hopefully companys and ISP's starts thinking together now
and see that DoS is the next step of online "terrorismus" and
with the way how we all work together now; this'll badly
hurt us all at the same time.

The people behind such attacks are mostly only 13 years old
but they can generate up to 2 gbps bandwidth.

Remember, only we _together_ can fix this problem and if
we don't; I'm sure you'll be the next victim of a permanent
DoS attack. (And no, you can't simply nullroute your www.*
server of your company... when a kid likes you)

Regards,

        Hi all,

Have a look at the proposal below. Please let me(*) and Stefan know
what you think of it, what you would like to be presented/discussed,
what you don't like, what should be added/is of interest, etc.
Can't promise to satisfy all requests, but will try my best ;-)
(ie no live demo of heap overflows in IOS ;-)

(*) Please reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED], I'm really too busy to keep
up with mailing lists at the moment...

        . I can propose a presentation on layer 2 protocols (in)security (xTP,
. VLANs, etc), layer 3 protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP, "HSRP"), router
. security and forensics. This is an update from the talk we gave
. during SwiNOG3 or 4 (can't remember) and contains all the new material
. from BlackHat Briefings US 2002 and also Defcon X.
. The BH/DCX presentations aren't on securite.org yet, but you can
. grab a "more or less" up-to-date version from:
        . Fischbach
        .
. DDoS stuff is also in, but since John also proposed something about it
. I can leave it out if needed.
        .
. A full presentation (if I take all the material together) is about
        . ~2 hours.

        [...]
