Rgds, Harry Meier ------------------------------------- Senior Security Engineer Consulting Duties Senior Security Engineer (SSE) is a Security Operations Center (SOC) position with the responsibility to execute day-to-day security management operations in accordance with the Onaras products standards. SSEs work in the SOC, under the guidance of the SE Senior Manager, accomplishing daily operational and security engineering tasks to defined SE standards. The SSE is responsible for the installation, configuration, health, and management of all Onaras e-mail encryption appliance devices. SSEs are trained to implement industry best practices with regard to e-mail encryption and security management. Responsibilities include security data audits, security device support, security system engineering, SEPP (e-mail encryption) appliance management, security consulting, employee mentoring, and ticket resolution. Senior Security Engineers are also responsible for evaluating established operational processes and procedures to make recommendations to improve and streamline the environment. Requirements To qualify for the position of Senior Security Engineer, a candidate must have at least 4 years of IT security experience. The candidate must have successfully completed IT security projects where he/she was responsible for designing and implementing technical security solutions, including e-mail encryption solutions, e-mail servers, firewalls, and VPNs. SSEs serve as technical leads on SOC shifts, as well as on SOC technical projects that are outside the scope of normal shift responsibilities. SSEs also train and mentor newly hired Security Engineers on SOC procedures and policies. SSEs are expected to continuously raise the collective level of expertise and operational knowledge in the SOC. SSEs also are responsible for verifying that available training materials are up to date and contain current operational processes and procedures. SSEs work with internal as well as externals Onaras partners to better implement SOC operational procedures.
