Hi

This is not exactly 'on topic', but I know there are quite a few
people using grsec so I thought this would be of general interest.
The development of grsec has, unfortunately, ceased due to lack
of funding. Paypal, anyone? :)

In another posting Brad mentions how much funding he approximately
requires:

"Basically the issue is I need to make money this summer before I
start my senior year at college. I have a lot of things I have to
pay for this summer (and starting to save up to pay off my student
loans wouldn't be bad either). So if the sponsorship thing doesn't
work out, I'll just quit working on grsec and get a job instead.
Because I'm willing to work on grsec this summer as if it were a
full-time job, I'd like to make as much as I would for a full time
job. Last summer I made around $12,000 before taxes so I would like
to make at least that much this summer."

Beginning today, May 31, 2004, development of grsecurity will cease. On
June 7, the website, forums, mailing list, and CVS will be shut down.
Due to a sponsor unexpectedly dropping sponsorship of grsecurity while
continually promising payment, I began the summer in debt and had to
borrow money from family to pay for food. If none of the companies that
depend on grsecurity, some of them being very large, are able to sponsor
the project, grsecurity will cease to exist. I am not looking for paypal
donations at this point, unless those that donate do so with the
recognition that despite their donation, grsecurity may still never be
returning. If your company wishes to sponsor grsecurity, please contact
me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
