Hello, I am listening to International Radio Report on CKUT via my Logitech Squeezebox. I have BBC WS, BBC Radio Scotland, WBUR, and Radio nan Gàidheal as presets. I think the Logitech Squeezebox uses TuneIn Radio as the menus are similar.
I have TuneIn Radio on a number of devices. It is great to listen to stuff like the British DJs and commercials on the English language UAE stations. or music programs in foreign languages. I can bring the Logitech Squeezebox and some other devices. 73 Eric ----- Start Original Message ----- Sent: Sun, 29 Jan 2012 00:20:28 -0500 From: Richard Cuff <[email protected]> To: Discussion list for the Winter SWL Fest <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Swlfest] WIFI Radio > Good suggestion - we'd have to sort out the logistics... > > On Sun, Jan 29, 2012 at 12:11 AM, bernieS <[email protected]> wrote: > > Amazon's under $200 "Kindle Fire" is not only as portable as any shortwave > > portable, its dual speakers and decent audio work very well with the > > excellent free TuneIn Radio app: > > http://www.amazon.com/TuneIn-Radio-Pro/product-reviews/B004XDYJRU > > > > Since our traditional "Listening Lounge" is now impractical due to the > > Doubleday Hotel's Faraday cage, maybe we should encourage attendees to bring > > their 'Internet Radios' to demonstrate and compare. > > > > -Ed Cummings > > > > > > > > > > At 10:57 PM 1/28/2012, you wrote: > >> > >> I believe the forum list is pretty well confirmed...and at this point > >> we don't have a "radio via Internet" forum on it. > >> > >> However, I'd be happy to do an informal roundtable in the exhibit room > >> at some point Thursday through Saturday regarding this space. > >> > >> I keep an Excel spreadsheet with the "traditional" English language > >> international broadcasters and the options one now has for listening > >> via SW, WRN, Internet live / Internet on-demand, podcast, etc. > >> > >> I'm with David - with the iPhone / Android, Tune-in Radio is my > >> favorite.
