WGMS 103.5 gave their CD library to WETA FM, which has somewhat filled
the gap in classical music radio in DC, although WETA doesn't have
quite the footprint of the old WGMS.

In years past, WAMU and WETA would somewhat duplicate their services,
particularly in AM and PM drive.

When WETA went all-classical, WAMU went all-"think" (or whatever you
want to call the NPR/PRI/APM spoken-word format).

The net loss was the bluegrass music that Larry mentioned, which was
somewhat of a mainstay on WAMU...

There has been a lot of buzz over FM News in Philly...would CBS
sacrifice a music FM to move KYW there since Merlin has 106.9?

The thinking is that, for now, KYW will stay only AM 1060 (and 94.1 HD2).

The shifting sands of the radio dials...
