I want to thank Rich and John for securing the excellent Presidential Suite at the hotel this year for the Hospitality Room. It's on the hotel's top floor with a great view of the southern horizon from the balcony--which juts out just a few feet from the huge flat roof above. This presents a great opportunity for radio listening whilst enjoying some 'hospitality'.

IF the hotel is amenable to our laying out some dipoles or other antennae on their huge flat roof and dropping feedlines to the balcony, it should provide for great reception.

Even without roof access (which is quite easy through the door by the vending machines) some wire antennas could be dangled off the balcony or tossed up onto the roof.

Last year Andy Yoder and I surveyed the QRM (RF noise) level from up there and it was surprisingly quiet. So, bring your radios and antennas!

(Also, the balcony's view of the southern sky should make it possible for some good Free-to-Air satellite reception demos.)

Cheers,

-Ed Cummings
