I *think* Android smartphone / tablet users will be OK -- I tried out
"Business Matters" and "Outside Source" via the embedded iPlayer
within the Kindle Fire's Silk browser, and it appears to work OK...so
far...

I also tried out TuneIn on my iPhone -- which had worked for a fair
number of on-demand programs, and had mixed results. While "The
Newsroom" still played fine, both "Business Matters" and "Outside
Source" yielded errors with TuneIn.

Radio 4 also behaved similarly...I could listen to "The Archers" on
demand on my Kindle Fire without incident.

Rob, I don't think this is an issue for Internet radios -- yet -- for
programs that are podcast, as these programs are provided in MP3
format...am I correct?

An interesting question would be whether or not one of these $40-$50
Android 4.4 tablets I see over at Amazon would have sufficient
horsepower to run the iPlayer app within the native browser.

It is a shame, though, for radios based on Reciva, vTuner, Sonos, and
Logitech Squeezebox users have to rely on podcasts...because the BBC
might decide those aren't worth keeping either...
