Bill Cole It is my sad duty to tell you that charlyne eichner (kb3gyq) died of
kidney failure on wed may 20th. She had been in the nursing home since mid Jan
but was not getting better. She missed last years fest because I had cancer
but was determined to get there this year. I stopped to see her on the way
home from the fest and gave her this years fest shirt and she got to see this
years pictures. Unfortunately the lock down occurred a week later and that was
the last time I was able to see her until she wound up in hospice. She was
only in hospice a few days before she died.JefKb3gty-----Original

Sad indeed. We can honor the memory of our late
friends in the SWLfest community by getting newer (and perhaps younger)
acquaintances to come to future SWLfests. The SWLfest community
isn't sustainable unless we do this.
Over the past several years I've brought new people to every
SWLfest. We can all try to do the same, and we'll be richer for
it. Plus, our friends will appreciate our welcoming them into this
amazing community.

Hello,
Another sad piece of news. Unfortunately I think Sheldon's list will get
longer each year as we all get older.
I hope the fest will not fall victim to Covid-19 and we can find a way to
continue it safely into the future.

It is with heavy heart and great sadness that I post this sad news
that Frederick "Bill" Cole (N2CSA) entered Eternal Rest on May
4, 2020
at home with his family. Bill was a loving husband, father, and
grandfather.
*A Lifelong radio hobbyist, one of the founding fathers of the
Scanner
Scum, Bill was a member of the Cape May County Amateur Radio Club
and
the Cape May County RACES. His services will be greatly missed by
the
Club and RACES.
Bill was an Army veteran who served in the Panama Canal Zone.
Bill enjoyed Civil War Reenactments and he was an avid shooter who
shared his love of shooting with his grandchildren.
He will be missed by all.
