Hello, Charlie -

Sorry you didn't hang around longer -- you obviously arrived at a
particularly hectic time, what with everyone lined up for the pizza
lunch.

I was standing in the hallway, holding the door open, and would have
been happy to register you on the spot (although lunch would not have
been available -- the hotel needs the head counts for meals as of
Friday 12 noon. The registration desk was in the hotel's ballroom
that was along the hallway just past where people were queued.

We had a full slate of afternoon activities, and we kept to the
schedule that was posted at both the Fest website and at the Fest
blog. The after-lunch forum began promptly at 1245.

Next time, ask for John or myself, or simply ask around to people with
name badges regarding how to register, where stuff is held, etc.
While things can be intimidating to a first-time visitor, we try very
hard to create a friendly environment where those new to the Fest can
quickly understand what happens & how.

Hope you enjoyed your brief visit with us in any event; the Radio
Azteca interval signal (I believe it's the opening "fanfare" to Rocky
& Bullwinkle cartoons) is one of my favorites.

See you next year -

Hi, I arrived Saturday close to noon. Everyone was lined up in the
hallway for lunch. Didn't find a registration desk. Talked to a couple
of people and they said things should get started again in a couple of
hours. Went back out to my car and listened to Radio Azteca on 650 Khz
for a while. Then decided to leave.... Charlie from Southern NY.
