How about bringing us up to date on what you guys have learned about SDR;
what's out there now; where it's going; how soon and how much?

Re: [Swlfest] 2008(!?) Fest Casting CallEric.Thanks for the input. I remember
you telling me a lot of this stuff last year sitting in front of the DRM
table!I told Richard that I wanted to demo an actual SDR transceiver for a
forum this year. Problem is, I haven't purchased one - yet. I know the prices
of the Flex SDR-1000 are going down a little bit now since they introduced the
newer SDR-5000. I played with one extensively at the last Orlando hamfest and
fell in love with it. Sooo maybe next year (2009), I'll demo the SDR-5000 with
a live antenna so people can actually see/hear how the thing works. From what
I've seen so far, SDR is the way to go! Who knows, maybe we'll build an
antenna that's appropriate for an SDR transceiver in the demo room for
transmitting and receiving? Don't want to blow away any other radio front ends
however! I'll look more closely at the three links you sent me Eric. Thanks
again.-Tim
