Basically, the Pennsylvania Turnpike tolls are highway robbery in their current 
state.  Of all of the places I have had to drive when I worked for the fleet 
services company, I usually hated it when my travels took me on the PA 
Turnpike.  Even though it took longer, I would sometimes use Route 30.  I mean 
the high tolls and given the crappy conditions of the turnpike, they should be 
actually paying the people who drive it for the several inconveniences, not to 
mention the sorry state of the highway.

The way I have understood this matter for years is that many truckers are 
driving I-80 to avoid paying the high tolls and now PA wants to turn I-80 into 
a toll road and lease off the turnpike.

Only in PA can you get a fine for $25 and the taxes they add onto it come to 
about $150.
