Tim,
It's a bit better than it was during my 'Fest presentation back in 2006 but it varies greatly by market. Here in Columbus, there are a few stations with alternative formats on the 2nd or 3rd stream (talk, maybe a variation of the main format such as smash metal rock vs arena rock, etc.) Others relay their AM format on FM. I'm planning to update my presentation soon (probably in print) and will give a heads up when I have something to share. The sound is better but beyond that it's mostly a personal thing. The one upside over satellite radio is the no subscription fee thing and iTunes tagging if you want that feature. -- -Rob de Santos From: Tim Lemmon [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, July 14, 2008 2:18 PM To: Discussion list for the Winter SWL Fest Subject: Re: [Swlfest] Fwd: HD Radio for less than $100? - RADIO Currents Online - July 14, 2008 Rich. At least in your area, is there anything worth listening to on terrestrial HD radio now? The last word I had at the fest was most HD programming is simply the same as what's on analog. a.k.a horrible. -Tim
