Hi all,

Phil Durbin's email reminded me that it is good to share some of the work each
of us is doing with SWORD. I've recently been working on a SWORD
implementation to sync resources using ResourceSync.

The idea behind this was to test out the proposed ResourceSync standard
(http://www.niso.org/workrooms/resourcesync/ and
http://www.openarchives.org/rs/) by pushing the synchronised resources back
into another repository. SWORDv2 allows ResourceSync's "changelists" to be
mirrored in the remote repository, by processing the relevant updates and
deletes.

This requires a bit of work to merge related items in a ResourceSync, so that
metadata items and their related files are deposited together.

There is a write-up at:

For background reading,

useful.

Comments welcome!

Thanks,
