Hey Guys!
I'm really looking forward to seeing the CE app. Just a few comments that might help.

If you are using the default SWMgr constructor then there is a fairly useful algorthim implemented for finding books. You can read about these in the INSTALL doc in the root of the source tree, but in short, this is one way to take advantage of this, and is what we use on the Zaurus handheld:

We install a file at /etc/sword.conf which contains:

[Install]
DataPath=/usr/share/sword
AugmentPath=/mnt/card/usr/share/sword
AugmentPath=/mnt/cf/usr/share/sword

This tells the sword engine to look for it's base modules in /usr/share/sword, and also search the SD memory and CF memory slots for books (they are located at the paths seen above)

Obviously these path can be changed, the concept is useful. This allows searching of any inserted memory chip for books. It also allows me to keep a small set of default books installed in ram.

Hope this is useful.

Johan,

Wow, this is fast! I love it.

I tried what you said to have the modules stored on the storage card,
but it doesn't work. I edited the mods.conf file, but everything still
references "program files/sword/" i.e. "program
files/sword/../../storage card..." and says the module does not exist.
Any other thoughts?

Dan

Subject: [sword-devel] Progress on windows CE interface

Hello all,

I have made some progress on the windows CE sword reader. The
user-interface does no longer suffer from unnecessary long delays. In
fact, the code has been optimized to the limit for speed. The new
version can be downloaded from:

http://ozy.student.utwente.nl/~drsoong/SwordReader06.exe

You can replace this .exe with the previous .exe. The other files you
need are still available at:

http://ozy.student.utwente.nl/~drsoong/SwordReader.zip

I will be working on improving the text layout (cleartype, other font
for verse numbers, etc) now. After this I want to make a user interface
for the search function. Finally some work has to be done on a
user-friendly install and a presentation webpage.

God bless you all,

Johan
