Hello CeSoft,
My name is Lynn Allan. I am a volunteer with The
CrossWire Bible Society (www.crosswire.org). Our primary function is
to prepare freeware for Bible study.
Recently, we received a request from the Wycliffe
Bible translators for help with their EasyEnglish Bible project. Briefly, this
involves non-computer literate missionaries translating the Bible into various
languages where missionaries are deployed. Some of these missionaries speak
English as a second language, so simplicity is paramount.
At this point, the installation and Word-4-Windows
macro customization involves a large number of steps, and has been a source of
frustration to the EasyEnglish translators. Our volunteers have been
requested to put together a solution to simplify this.
We have considered preparing a VBA application that
would work as a "plug-in" for Word-4-Windows. However, it is my impression that
your QuicKeys product might be a simpler "80/20" solution (80% of the benefits
with 20% of the effort). I am only barely familiar with QuicKeys, so I may very
well be uninformed as to what QuicKeys can and cannot do. I have done some WSH
programming (Windows Script Host) and Visual Test programming.
I have downloaded QuicKeys 2.5. Prior to spending
time on evaluating QuicKeys feasibility, I first wanted to inquire about
licensing terms. We would very much appreciate having CeSoft make
QuicKeys 2.5 available for free or at very low cost to the Wycliffe UK
organization. Perhaps you could make an older version available at little or not
cost? We could probably be talking about 20 to 50 end-users.
Sharing the reason for the season,
