Hi all from South Africa, I am quite new to the developing side of sword although I have monitored it's progress since '99. I am a professional VB programmer with a moderate knowledge of C++(VC6). I believe that the work you guys have down is so amazing that it should be available to as many platforms as possible. Because of this I have started on a .dll library that will make most functionality available to VB programmers. The reason for this is twofold. Although not as powerfull as C++, VB is a great tool for rapid development and deployment. Minor changes and even whole new ideas can be implemented much quicker. The other reason is that I want to improve my knowledge of C++ and the sword library. So I'm killing two birds with one stone.
Am I reinventing the wheel? Do you guys have anything in the making of this sort. I know of Diatheke and ActiveDiatheke, but find it limited. A DLL would run faster in VB especially if a type lib is produced. Are there any guidelines I should follow? Hints & Tips? Do's Don't? Don't waste your time? :) God Bless. Hennie. ______________________________________________________________ Herbalife Independent Distributor http://www.healthiest.co.za _______________________________________________ sword-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.crosswire.org/mailman/listinfo/sword-devel
