Not to be insensitive to feature requests and good ideas, but to restate my position on this:

It's been FIVE MONTHS since I posted a basic NSIS installer script and asked very specifically for a very short finite list of improvements and absoluely NO NEW FEATURES FOR THIS RELEASE JUST TO GET IT OUT THE DOOR so we could update BibleCS to 1.5.8. I suggested we work on these new 'family of windows apps' (and other cool) ideas immediately after the release.

FIVE MONTHS have been spent considering all these new ideas and users STILL HAVE 1.5.6 of BibleCS and an old KJV2003 (half marked up) text in the starter pack.

I WOULD LOVE TO WORK ON NEW FEATURES TO ALLOW THESE THINGS. Consider that if we would have just fixed the 3 or so things I asked 5 months ago, we could have had all this time to gladly discuss and work on these new ideas, in good conscience.

If DM has time to add a popup question on uninstall (just one more thing...), fine. But DM is the kind of guy who will probably feel guilty if he doesn't work on 10 things at the same time over the next 4 hours to cater to people's requests and I'd rather just take the pressure off of him and say one more final time: NO NEW FUNCTIONALITY FOR _THIS_ RELEASE. I'M NOT SAYING 'ANY RELEASE', OR EVEN 'ANY RELEASE IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS'. I'm just saying, it's time to release now. If you want to make things better after that and release again tomorrow with cool new features, great. We need to release now and have spent 5 month beyond discussing what I've asked we not discuss until after the next release.

        -Troy.

Scenario:
A "family of sword-api front-ends" installed (such as BibleCS's sword.exe and one or more of BibleStudy, BibleDesktop, and LcdBible installed). The end-user has installed front-ends and modules in such a way that 20+ modules are shared. It's a "big happy family".

I'm actually troubled by this, as is Lynn. I'm currently working with BibleDesktop, which gets better and better. Now, suppose I eventually decided I no longer needed BibleCS (Unlikely, actually). I would be furious if I did the uninstall and got all my modules nuked. Naturally, as I know how all the stuff works and what I need, I wouldn't go in for an automatic uninstall - but the majority of users would maybe get caught out wouldn't they?

Can't the uninstall ask the question?

God bless,

Barry
