It's just the best course for right now. Pango doesn't necessarily
include Graphite support and I think Uniscribe definitely doesn't. (I'm
definitely not an expert on smart rendering or Graphite or anything, so
if I'm wrong, please correct me.) But both Pango and Uniscribe can at
least interpret OpenType tables, which are a lot more helpful than nothing.
