Setting the file permissions did the trick! Thank you, Troy.

By the way, is there any special reason why osis2mod is conservative
with the file permissions? Could it be made to be more free with these
permissions? If that could be done, then situations such as described
wouldn't occur any more. This would improve the user's experience with
the utility.
