David, I don't think there is a one-to-one correspondance between each Chinese
character and its Pinyin transliteration. One Chinese character should be
mapped
to one pinyin.
But one pinyin may be mapped to many Chinese character. Which Chinese character
is mapped to for a given Pinyin depends on the context of where the Chinese
character is used.
