It's not the end of the discussion. Nothing much has been decided yet. One of the other prompts for beginning this thread relates to Chinese Bible translations.
For Chinese, the convention for rendering translators' added words is to used dotted underlines. I guess that none of our front-ends actually implement this, even when the correct OSIS markup is present. Perhaps http://kokkos.org/ Kokkos might be an exception, with it being developed as a Chinese based JSword front-end.
