Out of curiosity: Why put sign language for deaf on a screen when text
is simpler?

Great News!
God created you, owns you and gave you commands to obey.
You have disobeyed God - as your conscience very well attests to you.
God's holiness and justice compel Him to punish you in Hell.
Jesus Christ became Man, was crucified, buried and rose from the dead
as a substitute for all who trust in Him, redeeming them from Hell.
If you repent (turn from your sin) and believe (trust) in Jesus Christ,
you will go to Heaven. Otherwise you will go to Hell.
Warning! Good works are a result, not cause, of saving trust.

You can use the same mechanism for adding images. We have a very
restricted set of file types we "support", but that as the support
offered is not really part of the engine, but handled by external file
handlers there is really no technical limit to what you can embed. The
limit is really in our convention not to distribute anything which would
not work on all platforms, at least I'm theory.
More interesting though, and this is where we never made much progress
is whether it is possible to embed a sound file but pass on enough
information to allow playing individual verses only. We had several
years ago a discussion on all that on sword-devel. Look into the
archives for more info.
The other development of course has been the ever improving provision of
TTS systems. These of course do not support many/any minority languages.

Subject: [sword-devel] Audio projects? (Video projects?)

This question is because I'm chasing a lead on ESV Gideons edition.
To clarify a bit: In 2013, Gideons International started publishing
Bibles based on the ESV that include revisions so the work conforms
closely to the Textus Receptus.
ESV2011 Matthew 6:13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Gideons Matthew 6:13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours
in the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever, Amen.
The problem I've run into is that the Gideons Bible App is
dysfunctional, and appears to be the only way to download the
ESV-Gideons text onto a mobile device. However, the Gideons app also
appears to be geared primarily to providing audio.
So, as I'm asking about receiving the text, I'm also preparing to
field any questions about audio.
Audio and Video have come in and out of discussion regarding OSIS
and availability on the sword format, but it was always forward
looking. However, in today's environment it's more of a "now" issue
than ever. Does Sword (and OSIS) have a documented or recommended
way to handle audio (and video) in modules. Or a roadmap to getting
there? I'm speaking of audio scriptures and video scriptures for
deaf (sign language).
Is it be possible to get the sword platform to provide recorded audio?
