Sometimes what one types in November and December becomes out of date
as of January 1st, and sometimes one is just plain wrong...

Thanks to Glenn Hauser, some changes to report from the printed Journal:

1) Radio Japan: I had mentioned that all broadcasts are 20 minutes.
Not so -- some broadcasts are 30 minutes, others 20 minutes...

2) Sudan Radio Service: Their frequency and programming schedule was
updated after I prepared that item in November. English now appears
to be on as follows:

0300-0330 5975 KIG 250 kW / non-dir EaAf English Mon-Fri
0530-0600 9525 DHA 250 kW / 240 deg EaAf English Mon-Fri
0530-0600 13720 DHA 250 kW / 240 deg EaAf English Mon-Fri
1530-1600 9840 MSK 250 kW / 190 deg EaAf English Mon-Fri
1500-1530 9840 MSK 250 kW / 190 deg EaAf English Sat/Sun
1730-1800 9840 DHA 300 kW / 240 deg EaAf English Mon-Fri

(KIG - Kigali, Rwanda; DHA - Dhabayya, UAE; MSK - Moscow, Russia)

Last year I remember the 0300 transmission originating in the UK, on
7240 kHz, which propagated reasonably well to the eastern USA; I
suspect these transmissions above generally won't be quite as useful.

3) Kol Israel: Gets at least a three-month reprieve from SW closure.
They're still on the air.

4) Radio Ukraine International: Their North American - targeted
transmissions resumed as of January 1st.

May 2008 bring you good listening!
