It is not a 'death of distance'. Is a 'death of distance perception'.
Now when anything happens in the world, certain groups want you to feel
like it is happening in your front yard. Hence, people stop leaving the
house because their front yard is now such a dangerous place. Really,
what was the last catastrophe to hit your front yard?

Probably never here a song like "Over There" again.
