SOUTH AFRICA: Channel Africa on 1 April at 1710 tune-in on 15235, in
place of Africa Digest the station was transmitting a concert of
Handel's Messiah from Nelson Mandela Square. Part one ended just before
1800, and the programme continued on the web from 1800 in the Silozi
time slot. The programme was described as live, although looking up
http://www.whatson.co.za/ , the concert was due to be held from
1600-1900 South Africa time, ie 1400-1700UTC, so unless the concert had
been delayed, I guess it was really an "as-live" recording. Anyway -
very enjoyable and rare to hear such music on shortwave. Congrats to
Channel Africa for broadcasting it.
