Dear all,

(Sorry for cross-posting). Here is a link to an upcoming international conference I am currently co-organising to be held at the University of NSW on June 20 and 21. The conference theme is 'Sexual Abuse in Religious Contexts'. The conference is an interdisciplinary conference bringing together: psychiatrists, psychologist, philosophers, social scientist, theologians, lawyers and representatives of various faith groups to discuss this important issue. While the program of speakers is still being finalised there will be *at least *three philosophers, all of whom have an interest in ethics, applied ethics and/or social theory who will be contributing. Of further interest to philosophers Prof. Peter Jonkers, from the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Tilburg in Holland who has published widely on philosophical and ethical themes in German and Dutch will also be speaking.

Those who wish to find out a little more about the conference can visit the website: sohttp://www.waldronsmith.com.au/sairc08

Currently the conference is sponsored by a range of institutions including the NSW Health Department, The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, The Cannan Institute, The School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry at the University of Sydney, and the Department of Psychiatry at the University of NSW.

Further updates will follow through first semester.

Yours,
Philip Quadrio
