The Philosophy Department at Macquarie University has a number of opportunities 
for casual teaching in semester 1 2010. We welcome expressions of interest from 
suitably qualified candidates to teach the following on-campus units. 

PHL 363 Philosophy and Cognitive Science (8-11 weeks lectures and tutorials)
PHL 280 Truth and Reality (11 weeks lectures and tutorials)
PHL 256 Knowledge and its Limits (5 weeks lectures and tutorials)
PHL 254 Freedom and Alienation (11 weeks lectures and tutorials)
PHL 137 Critical Thinking (11 weeks tutorials only)
PHL 132 Philosophy, Morality and Society (11 weeks tutorials only)


The Department also invites expressions of interest to teach on the following 
distance-mode units offered through Open Universities Australia (OUA).

PHI 110 Philosophy Morality and Society, (SP1,2,3,4)
PHI 120 Critical Thinking (SP1,2,3,4)
PHI 130 Mind Meaning Metaphysics (SP1,2,3)
PHI 210 Practical Ethics (SP3,4)
PHI 220 Body and Mind (SP1,2)
PHI 230 Business and Professional Ethics (SP1,3)
PHI 310 Philosophy and Cognitive Science (SP 2,3)
PHI 320 Theories of Justice (SP1,2)
PHI 350 Film and Philosophy (SP1,3)

Approximate dates:
On campus Semester 1: 22 Feb - 18 June 
SP1: March - May
SP2: June - August
SP3: Sept - Nov
SP4: Dec - Feb 2011

Expressions of interest should take the form of an email to [email protected], 
including an indication of the units of interest with curriculum vitae attached 
including information on qualifications, teaching experience and the names and 
contact details of 2 referees. The closing date for expressions of interest is 
Friday 15 January, 2010.
