Correction: Thursday 8 April (tomorrow), not "Thursday 7 April", which is a
fiction of heretics.

Subject: Philosophy Circle: The gospel according to Thomas
Date: Wed, 7 Apr 2010 15:57:53 +1000

Hi everyone,

I'm just back from a brief holiday. Sorry about the last minute notice!

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO THOMAS

This is a short text, a non-canonical early Christian gospel, discovered in
1945, consisting of 114 sayings attributed to Jesus, about half of which
resemble sayings from the canonical gospels. The full text is available at:
http://i-cias.com/e.o/texts/christianity/gospel_thomas.htm

6.15pm (for a 6.30pm start), Thursday 7 April 2010

We'll start just after 6.30pm, and continue till 8pm-8.30pm. Format is usually:
short speech, then two or three rounds of discussion, with breaks in-between.
Often we'll go to dinner afterwards. You're perfectly free to come and to leave
at any point in the evening.

No cost. No reading required beforehand. All welcome!

Location: members bar, floor 1 (keep winding up to the top of the stairs), The
Gaelic Club, 64 Devonshire Street, Surry Hills, Sydney (100 metres from a
Central railway station exit). The members bar is at the top of a winding
staircase. Usually we meet ***out on the terrace***, and we're usually armed
with the Oxford Companion to Philosophy, and a bell.

Hope to see you there!

Adrian
