The Institute of Education, the Department of History and the Institute of Art
History at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) is hosting an international
summer school for early-career researchers on the topic of recognition.
Specifically, the summer school addresses several challenges in contemporary
recognition theory, e.g. the lack of a socio-theoretical underpinning of the
demand for recognition or the anchoring of recognition theory in Western
liberal thinking. Early-career researchers interested in issues like
international and social conflicts in liberal societies, populism and
moralization, decolonization and recognition of historical injustice or
recognition in the context of severe disabilities are encouraged to apply.
