I would not like to think how long it would take to port symfony to PHP4.

Older versions of propel can be used with PHP4 but in my experience it is problematic and the feature set is greatly reduced.

The company i work for does not support php5 either but after much nagging the sys admins agreed to let me install PHP5 along side PHP4 using a different file extension.

If you are using Symfony all you then need to do is altr the file extension of you front controller to ensure it uses the PHP5 engine.

Depending on your server set up this can be a solution to allow you to continue to support lagacy PHP4 sites but develop new sites on PHP5 and symfony

Symfony´s developers,

I have a big problem in my company. That´s the situation:
- The company doesn´t support PHP 5.x;
- I have a system, 90% completed, in Symfony;

What I want to know is:
- Does Symfony have a parallel PHP 4.x based development?
- What are the PHP 5.x features that Symfony uses? Could we translate it to PHP 4.x?
- Does anyone have some thoughts? Any idea?

Thanks in advance!!
