I would agree that this is a bug, and I'm wondering how it got there
in the first place, but like Fabian, I don't know whether it would
affect BC.

Anyway, there is still a HTTP/1.0 leftover in SF 1.1, but not in
trunk. I submitted a bug and a small patch at 
http://trac.symfony-project.com/ticket/2761.
